It is sad to hear that Italians now perfer pasta to sex. Over 40 years ago I was a eighteen year old U.S. sailor who had never seen another country than my own and I fell in love with Italy right away, especially Naples. Not only did I fall in love with Italy, but Italian girls as well. I think I had sex every -other day and passed on the pasta. Naples has probably changed since I was there in 1963, but one thing I know that hasn’t changed and that is Italian women are still beautiful. I use to love to talk to the ladies of the night in the alleys around Naples and duck in a cafe where I would buy a bottle of wine to share with anyone that wanted to. Italy is a beautiful country, full of nice people who treated me the way I like to be treated and I did the same. I only wished I spoke the language, but it was fun talking anyway. I remember that I bought this bottle of wine with a real long neck. I had to set it on the floor, the neck was so long. My buddy was with me and we shared the whole bottle with two older men and we talked and laughed even though we never understood each others language. The lady that waited on us seemed mad at us but one f the men would just throw his arms up in the air and yell at her and we didn’t know why. Later we found out he was her husband and she kept saying “to much” and then it hit us that he drank to much. He did fill his glass more than us. we had fun anyway. Now I eat to much pasta and think about sex less. I’m also thinking about a low carb diet, that i know would not go over in Italy. Today I wonder if I would be treated like I was in 1963, if I visited Naples again with the war in Iraq etc. I hope I would. I always wanted to go back, but life, work, family etc. have kept me from it and now I can’t afford to travel. On signing off I want to say, enjoy the pasta and pizza, but don’t forget the sex.

What an amazing story — you’re right about getting priorities straight…
I think you’d be treated just fine, Iraq or no Iraq, people seem pretty good at separating an American from America though from what I read Naples isn’t so idyllic right now…Great post!

I have just been working a month in Naples, and it was soooo fantastic. If you treat people like a friend, they will do anything for you – but are you suspicious because you are scared of all the rumours – and facts about he crime there – they will rob you.
I had so much hot sex also… and it was so easy to get in contact, also because Im rare there as a true blonde.
Italian men are the best, so romantic they know just how to treat a woman. And the humour!
I am moving permanently to Naples in 3 month and I will never come back to Copenhagen! The hot bloded people there, the food, the sun, the extreme beauty – cant resist. And wont resist!
